Arthur van der Drift

Arthur van der Drift studied musicology at the University of Amsterdam. In 1991 he started working for the Gaudeamus Foundation, Centre for Contemporary Music in Amsterdam, where he organised and produced several festivals and concerts, such as the International Gaudeamus Music Week and the International Gaudeamus Interpreters Competition. From 2008 to 2011 he was senior project manager for contemporary music at the Music Centre of the Netherlands (MCN).

From 2008 to 2016 he was Secretary General of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM), the world’s leading society for the promotion of contemporary music, with an annual presentation festival. For 12 years he worked at the Muziekgebouw Frits Philips in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, as General Manager of the International TROMP Percussion Competition and Festival. He was responsible for the organisation of the biennial project and all activities related to TROMP. He is currently working as an artistic planner for the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.
