The Gaudeamus Muziekweek is THE international meeting place for young composers from all over the world. An important part of the Gaudeamus Muziekweek is the Gaudeamus Prize, an award to encourage composers younger than 30.
Since 2011 the Gaudeamus Muziekweek takes place in Utrecht, where it quickly grew into one of the most important initiators of new music activities. Throughout the season, Gaudeamus organizes new music concerts at RASA. Besides these activities, Gaudeamus strives to be a platform for new incentives and developments within the area of contemporary music in the Netherlands and abroad. Therefore Gaudeamus is an active partner in networks such as ECPNM, ISCM, IAMIC and the newly established Ulysses Network. Since January 2012 an annual satellite festival “Gaudeamus Muziekweek New York” is organized in co-operation with The Issue Project Room in Brooklyn, New York.
